IFSS Computer Preference Tweaks
July 3, 2008With the Imaging process we use to install and setup all the computers in the school there is unfortunately some settings that we cant transfer over to the individual student accounts. Subsequently there are a few import tweaks you will need to make for yourself.
The most obvious ones relate to the ShuttleProXpress jog controller. As I showed last Monday you need to import the FinalCut or Premiere preference file to setup the controller. Click the ShuttlePro icon on the title bar, open the ShuttlePro software interface, select Device SHUTTLE PRO XPRESS and Import the Preference file. Once ou have done that in the case of FCP you also need to make sure that the Shuttle Setting is using the ‘Final Cut ProHD 2′ setting.
There is a conflict between the ShuttlePro and the MacOS built in keyboard features and this also needs to be tweaked when logged in. You’ll only need to do this once and then it will be part of your persoanl login settings. Go to the APPLE button in the top left of the screen, select System Preferences and then Mouse and Keyboard. Under Keyboard Short Cuts scroll down to the Tick Box marked KEYBOARD NAVGATION and untick it. This will prevent the conflict wit the shuttlepro.
